Yard Person (Counterbalance & CSCS Needed)

Job Type: Temp to Perm, Full-time; Mon - Fri

Salary: £13 - £13.50 per hour

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading supplier to the construction and civil engineering sector for a temporary Yard Person to join their busy operations team. This is a hands-on, physically active role working with a wide range of non-mechanical plant and equipment, supporting both yard and on-site activities.

This position involves manual handling of large items, preparing and maintaining equipment, and supporting installations across the UK. There are also opportunities for multi-drop van driving (up to 3.5T) and assisting the installation team, which may include occasional overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Picking, packing, cleaning, and quality-checking non-mechanical equipment.
• Manual handling and yard organisation to maintain a safe, efficient workspace.
• Loading and unloading vehicles and preparing materials for dispatch.
• Supporting delivery and installation projects across the UK when required.
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times.
• Liaising with colleagues and customers to ensure smooth daily operations.

Requirements:

• Counterbalance Forklift Licence and valid CSCS Card (essential).
• Full clean UK driving licence (essential).
• Physically fit, with the ability to lift and handle heavy equipment safely.
• Comfortable with a reactive, hands-on work environment.
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight for installation work as required.
• Previous experience in a yard, construction, or similar environment preferred.
• Positive, can-do attitude with strong teamwork and communication skills.
