Job Title: Material Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

As a Material Specialist, you will be responsible for the following key activities:

• Materials Assessment: Collaborate with project teams to assess spare parts and operating supplies requirements, ensuring all needs are identified and addressed in a timely manner.
• Database Management: Catalog and prepare materials for upload into a materials management system, maintaining up-to-date and accurate records to facilitate easy retrieval.
• Inventory Inspection: Oversee the receipt of materials in the warehouse, verifying descriptions and part numbers, and improving data accuracy to support smooth operations.
• Technical Descriptions: Review and enhance technical descriptions for spare parts, ensuring consistency and clarity in procurement documentation and inventory records.
• Cross-Referencing Data: Conduct regular cross-checks of existing records to eliminate duplication and ensure the integrity of material databases.
• Collaboration: Liaise effectively with internal teams and contractors to ensure materials requirements are met and any gaps are addressed promptly.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure all activities are in full compliance with internal safety, health, environmental, and quality standards, as well as legal and regulatory requirements.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Educational Requirements: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional Experience: At least 8 years' experience in materials management, particularly within the oil and gas sector.
• Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of materials management software and proven experience using SAP or equivalent systems, especially within the materials management or procurement modules.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to coordinate across multiple teams and stakeholders. Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills are essential.
• Personal Attributes: A proactive, self-motivated individual with a keen eye for detail and a strong focus on improving processes and workflows.
