Health & Safety advisor - Commercial Construction

We are recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor to join a large commercial project close to Woking, Surrey. This Health & Safety Advisor will support site operations, making sure everyone who attends and works on site is not put at risk.

This role will support current operations but also be part of the planning team for future operations, to ensure this Commercial Construction company is adhering to current legislation and further improvements. You will be joining an enthusiastic, energetics and creative team.

Health & Safety Advisor - Key responsibilities:

The overall responsibility for this role is t o ensure appropriate and robust health, safety and environmental management systems are implemented and maintained by the Site Team and the Subcontractors within all areas of the construction site, whilst regularly monitoring, reviewing performance of company health and safety standards and where possible providing improvements. This will include:

• Providing safety support, advice and guidance
• practical and realistic monitoring, good practice advice and ensure basic legal compliance.
• Deliver the daily site inductions
• Managing high-risk activities
• Ensuring suitable and sufficient risk assessments are undertaken and reviewed.
• Daily Site inspections
• Attend, minute, and participate in regular H&S sub-contractor meetings

Health & Safety Advisor - Skills, experience and qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years recent (Commercial) experience in a similar role
• NEBOSH National General Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice
• Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (or be working towards it)
• Minimum of 1 years' experience using web-based collaboration systems.
• Experience of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001
• Excellent communication, motivational, persuasion and interpersonal skills.

• Literate, numerate and with good IT skills.
• Hold a 'Professionally Qualified Person' CSCS card
• Hold a valid driving Licence.
