Head Sommelier – 5* Luxury Resort | Maldives

We are seeking a dynamic, charismatic, and sales-driven Head Sommelier to join our elite team at a luxury private island resort in the Maldives. This is not your typical Head Sommelier role — what sets this opportunity apart is the emphasis on personality, presence, and an exceptional ability to sell.

Responsibilities:

-Champion the wine program across the resort, enhancing guest experience through storytelling, upselling, and expert pairing.

-Lead and mentor a small team (1 Sommelier + 1 Assistant).

-Drive wine sales across multiple venues with a personal, high-touch approach.

-Work closely with F&B leadership to curate an innovative, revenue-generating wine offering.

-Host exclusive tastings, wine dinners, and special events to engage high-net-worth guests.

What We’re Looking For:

-Charisma is non-negotiable — you must be engaging, confident, and memorable.

-Proven track record in luxury hospitality or fine dining environments.

-Natural-born salesperson who thrives on closing high-value wine experiences.

-Deep wine knowledge, ideally with WSET or Court of Master Sommeliers certification.

-Adaptability to remote island life and a strong appreciation for delivering impeccable service.

Package:

-Base Salary: USD 2,500 per month

-Service Charge: Avg. $800 – $1,000/month
