Job Summary

Are you a passionate English Literature or Language graduate with a joy for language and literature?

Do you have an interest in teaching that you would like to explore in an entry level role that can give you an insight into the profession?

This exceptional Secondary School, set in the heart of a bustling Peckham community, is looking for a top-achieving, creative academic to join them as an English Graduate Academic Mentor with an immediate start.

What We’re Looking for & Key Role Responsibilities

As an English Graduate Academic Mentor, your day will consist of:

  • Using your degree and passions within English to inspire excellent learning outcomes
  • Support students with learning both in and outside of the classroom
  • Hold both 1-1 and small group study interventions to improve student progress
  • Help pupils stay engaged and on track with their learning
  • Instil a love for reading, writing and language in students

For this English Graduate Academic Mentor role, we are looking for someone who:

  • Has achieved a 2:1 or higher degree in an English degree
  • Ideally a degree achieved from a Top-30 University
  • An outgoing personality and openness to embrace learning opportunities
  • A genuine desire to work with young people and make a difference
  • Previous experience working with young people is a bonus but not essential – we are looking for potential
