BIDS AND TENDERS COORDINATOR - FOOD INDUSTRY 

Salary: Up to £35,000 DOE

Working pattern: Flexible to suit the post holder

Location: Wigan

Our client is looking for a Bids and Tenders Coordinator to join their business. The successful candidate will have experience in the food manufacturing industry, and be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of tender submissions and bid proposals to secure new business opportunities.

With the opportunity to make the role your own you will be…

  • Coordinating end-to-end tender and bid submission processes for public and private sector opportunities
  • Reviewing invitations to tender, RFQs, RFPs, and ensuring compliance with buyer requirements
  • Liaising with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, finance, operations, quality assurance) to gather required data
  • Preparing professional, high-quality bid documents, ensuring accuracy and alignment with customer specifications
  • Tracking bid progress, submission deadlines, and post-tender feedback
  • Maintaining a library of standard company information, certifications (e.g., BRC, HACCP), product specifications, and pricing
  • Ensuring adherence to food safety, sustainability, and ethical sourcing policies relevant to bids
  • Supporting pricing strategy, financial modeling, and risk assessment in bids
  • Monitoring procurement platforms for upcoming tenders relevant to the business
  • Reporting on bid success rates, identifying areas of improvement, and refining tendering processes

You will have:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, within the food industry or FMCG
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards and certifications (e.g., BRCGS, ISO 22000)
  • Excellent project coordination, time management, and organisational skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and tender portals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
