Mechanical Fitter

Location: Sandy, Bedfordshire

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: £15 per hour

Hours: Mon: 7.30am - 4pm, Tues: 7.30am - 4.30pm, Weds/Thurs: 7.30am - 5pm, Friday: 7.30am - 12pm

We’re recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled Mechanical Assembler/Fitter to join a well-established and respected engineering team. This is a hands-on role working on the assembly and fitting of specialist equipment to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble and fit manufacturing components to precise standards
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings
• Use a range of hand tools and mechanical equipment
• Work both in-house and occasionally on client sites
• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety and housekeeping

Requirements:

• Mechanical motor fitting, stripping, and rebuilding
• Air pneumatics and hydraulic systems
• Building and fitting bearing housings
• Building special purpose machinery
• Strong understanding of technical drawings
• City & Guilds or relevant engineering qualifications
