Overview:

We are recruiting a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a forward-thinking renewable energy company based in Brisbane. The successful candidate will play a key role in the electrical design and delivery process from concept to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical input during the detailed design phase of solar PV and battery energy storage projects.
• Ensure integration of safe, cost-effective, and regulation-compliant electrical designs into project execution.
• Manage and certify internal electrical design documentation to meet industry and regulatory standards.
• Review technical drawings, specifications, and manuals from vendors and third-party consultants.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of solar and BESS solutions across the project portfolio.
• Work closely with development, procurement, delivery, and operations teams to ensure design alignment across all phases.
• Lead the definition and development of electrical systems including DC, LV, MV systems and interface with HV and grid connection design.
• Engage with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to clarify technical requirements and resolve design-related queries.
• Identify potential project risks and support the development of mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with engineering teams across multiple geographies to foster knowledge sharing and best practices.
• Support procurement processes through technical validation of equipment and service proposals.
• Participate in technical meetings and client presentations to ensure satisfaction and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer (RPEng or equivalent) highly desirable.
• 5-7 years of experience in electrical engineering roles, preferably in the renewables sector.
• Working knowledge of solar PV and battery energy storage systems.
• Intermediate proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with CDEGS and/or ETAP is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and confidence in leading technical discussions.
• Willingness to travel for site visits, client and supplier meetings.
