About the Role – Graduate Unqualified Science Teacher

This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving secondary school in Brent as a Graduate Unqualified Science Teacher. Working within a dynamic and forward-thinking Science department, you will play a vital role in supporting students across KS3 and KS4. From delivering small group sessions to assisting in practical experiments, you’ll gain hands-on experience while preparing for a transition into a salaried teacher training programme that leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Key Responsibilities – Graduate Unqualified Science Teacher

  • Support the delivery of engaging and interactive Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
  • Provide tailored academic support for students preparing for GCSE examinations
  • Contribute to the development of lesson resources and curriculum planning
  • Lead small group interventions and one-to-one support sessions
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Monitor student progress and offer constructive feedback under the guidance of experienced teachers

Candidate Profile – Graduate Unqualified Science Teacher

  • A 2:1 or First-Class degree in a Science-related subject (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Natural Sciences, Engineering)
  • Strong academic background, including excellent Science A-Levels and GCSEs
  • A genuine interest in teaching and long-term commitment to a career in education
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate young learners
  • Confidence, adaptability, and a proactive attitude
  • Previous experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential
