Shutdown Coordinator

Location: Onshore Operations, Doha, Qatar

Job Purpose

The Shutdown Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all field activities during shutdowns (SD), ensuring safety, quality, and the execution of tasks according to the shutdown plan.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Shutdown Coordination:
    • Coordinate all phases of shutdown activities with stakeholders, reviewing work scope, resource estimates, and manpower requirements to build shutdown plans.

     

  2. Contractor Support:
    • Support shutdown maintenance contracting strategies by performing pre-bid job walks, scope clarifications, addressing logistical requirements, and acting as the interface between external contractors and internal shutdown teams.

     

  3. Schedule Support:
    • Follow and support shutdown schedules utilizing approved plans. Provide progress updates to planners, conduct field audits, and resolve scheduling or logistic issues.

     

  4. Work Pack Development:
    • Develop work packs for assigned areas in alignment with the shutdown plan.

     

  5. Work Order Review:
    • Review fully planned work orders before issuance, ensuring accuracy and relevance for execution.

     

  6. Risk-Based Work Selection:
    • Participate in Risk-Based Work Selection (RBWS) and Lean thinking sessions, leading job clash and SIMOPS reviews.

     

  7. Resource Management:
    • Support resource leveling, crane mapping, and determining spare requirements for assigned activities.

     

  8. Safety Coordination:
    • Coordinate safety procedures and instructions to ensure safe execution of the shutdown.

     

  9. Execution Management:
    • Perform shutdown execution, work prioritization, contractor supervision, and progress monitoring, reporting to the Execution Lead.

     

  10. Mobilization and Demobilization:

     

  • Manage pre and post-shutdown activities, including material return and closeout reports.

 

Person Specification - Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering.

Experience:

  • 8 years of field experience in the Oil & Gas or petrochemical industry.
  • Good knowledge of equipment and maintenance procedures related to utilities and processes in hydrocarbon plants.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in written and oral communication in English.
  • Computer literate, including experience with maintenance management systems such as SAP (PM & MM Modules).
  • Adaptable to a multinational environment with exposure to various cultures and customs.
