A leading Welsh charity is now looking for an empathetic Mental Health Support Worker to join the team in supporting people across Pembrokeshire who are experiencing mental health and housing-related difficulties.

The charity as a whole provides comprehensive aid to vulnerable people with mental health, addiction & related conditions who are facing difficult circumstances, such as with substance misuse, the criminal justice system, or loss of sufficient housing/employment.

As a Support Worker, your role will be dynamic and varied from day to day as you support people who need some extra help to manage their health needs, live independently, and pursue new life goals. Available specialties include:

• Domiciliary Support Worker (up to 37.5h, across Pembrokeshire) - provide expert personal care, wellbeing support, and advice and guidance to local people living with complex healthcare needs (e.g. mental illness, physical or learning disabilities, frailty).

• Housing Support Mentor (30h, Haverfordwest) – supporting individuals with substance misuse issues to live safely, securely, and independently in their own homes, enabling them to support themselves and live substance-free in the long-term.

• Floating Support Worker (30h, across Pembrokeshire) – supporting individuals with complex mental health needs to live independently in the community, including maintaining their tenancies, attending appointments, pursuing social, leisure and educational opportunities, and improving financial and physical security.

• Children’s Clinical Support Worker (up to 37.5h, Haverfordwest/Fishguard/Milford Haven) – supporting vulnerable children with complex clinical, medical & physical needs to remain living at home, providing personal and healthcare services to give parents / carers time to rest and recharge.

Person specification:

Candidates must have:

• Previous experience in managing a social care / mental health service.
• A valid UK driving licence for work-related travel needs.

It is preferred but not essential that candidates have:

• NVQ Level 2 / 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
