Process Engineers with a Chemistry background - all levels – Somerset - to £55,000 (level dependant) + relocation + Visa sponsorship
An excellent opportunity for a Chemical Process Engineer or PhD Researcher to join a $Billion global client in the field of design and manufacture of photonic devices for the medical and scientific industries. You will be joining their Optics Global Centre of excellence.
We have urgent requirements for experienced Chemical Engineers to assist with continued growth within their new, state-of the art manufacturing facility based in Taunton, Somerset.
You will ideally come from a Chemistry background and have hands on knowledge and experience of electroless nickel plating, conversion coatings, optical polishing and mirror cleaning.
You will be offered a competitive salary, regular pay reviews, relocation assistance (if necessary) and promotional opportunities.
Youll also need to understand how to alter raw materials into required products, while taking into consideration health and safety and cost issues.
Responsibilities
Your activities will be diverse and largely depend on the process in which you are assigned. However, youll generally need to -
Work closely with process chemists and control engineers to ensure the process plant is set up to provide maximum output levels and efficient running of the production facility.
Design plant and equipment configuration so that they can be readily adapted to suit the product range and the process technologies involved, taking environmental and economic aspects into account.
Set up scale-up and scale-down processes, including making appropriate changes to equipment design, and configuration.
Assess options for plant expansion or reconfiguration by developing and testing process simulation models.
Optimise production by analysing processes and compiling debottleneck studies. Apply new technologies.
Research new products from trial through to commercialisation and improve product lines.
