Job description : Painter / Decorator

Location: Cambridge/Newmarket/ Thetford?Bury/Haverhill 

Salary: £29,000 (overtime, company van, fuel card) 

Our client a large local social housing contractor providing maintenance services to 1000s of properties across the Eastern region is recruiting for a painter and decorator to work on a domestic maintenance social housing contract assisting in the reactive repairs and void operations in properties covering Cambridhe/Newmarket/Bury/Thetford/ Haverhill and the surrounding areas. 

This is a mobile engineer role covering domestic maintenance works.
 
The successful individual will hold a minimum of either full trade apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2 or be time-served in a painter role covering works in your designated area. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Management of day to day jobs allocated by a central team.
• Updating PDA devices with key information and work schedules.
• To ensure all assigned tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient standard.
• Promoting the client’s corporate image and excellent service standard on every resident visit.
• Actively deal with tenant issues and complaints in a positive and effective manner.
• Making decisions upon specialist experience and knowledge.
• Ensuring compliance at all times with necessary regulations, standards, and legal responsibilities of repair work and contractor compliance.
• Managing van stock effectively

The suitable candidate must have an understanding and ability to show excellent customer service skills when liaising with tenants within the occupied properties.

Skills:

        • Ability to work diligently, as part of a team

        • Ability to make decisions and confident at problem solving

        • Good understanding and knowledge of basic Health and Safety

        • Numeracy skills

        • Knowledge of Tablets

Certificates and Qualifications

• Trade City & Guilds/ NVQ qualification.
• Asbestos Awareness Training / Removal (ARC can provide free online training for this)
• Full UK driving license
• Working hours will be Monday to Friday 08:00am to 17:00pm with 30 minutes lunch. 

The pay rate is based on a self-employed basis. PAYE is available and the rate will be dependent on the preferred method of payment.

Immediate start available for the right candidate. The interview may also include a trade test to assess suitability for the role. 

The role is offered on a temp-perm basis with the potential to lead to a full time position with the company after 13 weeks as long as performance and standards are met. 

A van, fuel card and uniform will be issued with this role.  Overtime available.
