Contract: September to December 2025 (1 Term) with potnetial to continue permanetley

Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience (£85-£110 per day)

 

Connex Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in the Small Heath area of Birmingham to recruit a dedicated and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant (SEND) starting this September for at least a full term. 

This is a full-time classroom-based role, ideal for a committed and compassionate TA who has a strong background supporting students with special educational needs (SEND) at secondary level.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND, particularly in core subjects such as Maths and English

  • Work collaboratively with class teachers to deliver support in line with planned learning outcomes

  • Prepare appropriate learning materials and resources to support students’ progress and independence

  • Assist in the implementation of EHCP strategies and classroom-based interventions

  • Support student engagement and behaviour within the classroom environment

  • Maintain effective communication with the SENDCO, teaching staff, and external professionals

 

Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

  • Have experience working in a mainstream secondary school setting

  • Be confident supporting SEND students in the classroom, particularly those with EHCPs

  • Have a solid understanding of how to support learning and progress in Maths and English at Key Stage 3 and 4

  • Be able to work 1:1 with students and also support small group interventions

  • Possess excellent communication skills and be able to build positive relationships with students and staff

  • Be organised, proactive, and able to use their initiative in a busy school environment
