Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer to coordinate and oversee all mechanical process and equipment scopes within a major mining project. This role is pivotal in ensuring engineering quality, integration with other disciplines, and successful support to construction and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the coordination of mechanical process and equipment activities across the project

• Ensure detailed engineering meets project specifications, schedules, and quality requirements

• Support the construction team in resolving technical queries

• Supervise and mentor mechanical engineers to ensure consistent quality and performance

• Liaise with engineering teams located in India, China, Brazil, and other locations

• Oversee manufacturing processes and quality control measures prior to final shipment

• Ensure full integration of mechanical scope with other engineering disciplines

• Represent mechanical discipline needs during operations and maintain governance standards

• Manage communication with multiple stakeholders from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds

• Drive optimisation of mechanical activities to reduce cost and accelerate project timelines

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering

• Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering roles

• Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with capital projects in the mining sector is essential

• Prior involvement with iron ore beneficiation plants, pelletising plants, or briquetting plants is an advantage

• Proficient in bulk material handling systems and slurry systems (e.g. pumps, pipes, agitators, tanks)

• Demonstrated ability to lead mechanical engineering discipline during the engineering development phase

• Skilled in developing Basic and Detailed Engineering using BIM (Building Information Modeling)

• Proficient in CAD software

• Experience in BIM-based construction is a plus

• Previous experience in brownfield project environments is desirable

• Construction phase experience is an added advantage
