Construction Lead (Piping) - Permanent - Qatar/Oman

We are seeking an experienced Construction Lead (Piping) to oversee the piping fabrication scope for the NFPS Compression Project. This is a key role with work initially based in Doha, Qatar, before transitioning to Oman in 1st Quarter 2026. The assignment will continue in Oman until 1st Quarter 2029.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a major LNG project, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of piping fabrication, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Oversight: Lead and manage the EPC contractor for safe and successful execution of CP Topsides piping fabrication, ensuring alignment with project objectives (HSE, Quality, Schedule, etc.).
• Design & Constructability: Ensure the constructability of designs aligns with project engineering drawings, industry processes, and standards.
• Fabrication & Execution: Oversee the development of fabrication plans and execution of the piping fabrication scope. Ensure timely and quality delivery of project components.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Maintain strong interfaces between company teams, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve issues and ensure alignment across all parties.
• Progress Monitoring: Review contractor progress reports and identify critical issues or dysfunctions, proposing corrective actions as needed.
• Risk & Safety Management: Participate in risk assessments, job safety meetings, and ensure adherence to safety regulations and protocols throughout the fabrication process.
• Quality Control: Supervise and control piping fabrication, mechanical completion, and pre-commissioning activities to ensure compliance with contractual and technical requirements.
• Documentation & Reporting: Manage construction documentation including deviation reports, as-built dossiers, and post-completion reports.

   

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Sciences.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 8 years in construction-related disciplines, including 1 year in a supervisory role within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Experience in large-scale projects involving fabrication, welding, lifting, mechanical testing, and completions.
  • Knowledge of design standards, safety criteria, and risk management specific to fabrication, installation, and brownfield execution.
• Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in piping construction, onshore facilities, and yard operations.
  • Familiarity with sour gas, LNG production, and offshore/onshore project execution methods.
  • Experience with project execution procedures, including working in large operating organizations (Projects, Operations, Subsurface).
