Measurement Services Department – Seeking Experienced Metrologist

A leading company in the field of Contract Inspection and CMM Programming, serving both national and international customers, is looking to hire an experienced Metrologist to join our team. We have multiple locations, and the role is available in Halifax, Coventry, or Andover.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and create CMM programs for part inspections on specialized equipment at company facilities.
• Install and manage these programs at customer sites across the UK and Ireland.
• Operate and program additional inspection equipment as needed.
• Interpret and work from customer specifications, drawings, and CAD models.
• Engage with clients at their locations, representing the company in a customer-facing capacity.
• Estimate project durations for quoting purposes.
• Develop measurement programs and inspection strategies, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Key Requirements:

• Extensive knowledge of metrology principles, including engineering drawings, geometric tolerancing, and CAD systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects from start to finish.
• Experience with various dimensional measurement equipment such as CMMs, form measurement instruments, and vision measurement machines.
• Strong mechanical understanding and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable with IT systems and software relevant to the role.
• Ability to provide technical support and liaise directly with clients.
