Educate are working with a range of schools in the Shropshire area who are looking for someone to work as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant on both a full and part-time basis.

This role will include supporting the class teacher, carrying out interventions and on occasions taking the class in the absence of the teacher.

Responsibilities of a Higher Level Teaching Assistant:

1. Deliver opportunities for students to learn and express themselves.
2. Ensure that students are engaged, motivated and on task.
3. Manage any behaviour issues that may arise.
4. Follow school policies and procedures.
5. Maintain accurate records of student progress.

Requirements of a Higher Level Teaching Assistant:

• A relevant undergraduate degree such as a BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies or a Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification.
• GCSE or equivalent passes in maths and English.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to manage behaviour effectively
• A positive attitude and a willingness to collaborate
• Flexibility and adaptability

Registrations required to be a Higher Level Teaching Assistant:

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, but if you do not have one, you can apply for a new one through Educate.
• You must register with the EWC (Education Workforce Council) to work in Wales.
