Chief Technology Officer

International Hospitality and Retail

Location: London with international travel required.

An international business at the intersection of hospitality and retail, embarking on a major digital transformation to harness the power of data and technology.

We are seeking a strategic and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the global technology agenda, with a particular focus on building and scaling a modern data warehouse and data platform that supports innovation, operational excellence, and customer experience.

The role:

  • Define and execute the technology strategy across retail and hospitality operations, aligning with business goals.
  • Lead the design and implementation of large scale data platforms (data warehouse, data lakes, real-time streaming).
  • Drive systems integration across POS, CRM, ERP, booking/reservation, and customer loyalty platforms.
  • Champion DevOps practices, cloud adoption, and modern engineering methodologies.
  • Ensure robust data governance, compliance (GDPR), and high data quality.
  • Partner with commercial, marketing, and operational leaders to unlock customer insights and operational efficiencies.
  • Build, lead, and mentor high-performing technology and data teams across regions.

Experience:

  • Proven track record in technology leadership (CTO, Technology Director, Head of Data/Engineering) in retail or hospitality.
  • Strong roots in data engineering / BI and deep expertise in enterprise data architecture.
  • Hands on experience with data warehousing technologies (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks) and ETL/ELT pipelines (Informatica, Talend, dbt, Airflow).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms
  • Exposure to analytics & BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
  • Experience in high-transaction, customer-centric environments: POS systems, PMS, inventory, booking, and loyalty platforms.
  • Strong understanding of omnichannel strategies across retail and hospitality.
  • Leadership skills with a balance of strategic vision and technical credibility.
  • Willingness to travel regularly.
