  • Job Title: Design Manager
  • Location: Middlesbrough
  • Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum
  • Overtime: Overtime paid at enhanced rates
  • Working Hours: 47.5 hours per week (site hours: 7:00am – 7:00pm, Monday to Friday)

About the Role:

RMS are seeking an experienced and proactive Design Manager to take responsibility for the coordination and delivery of design work across our projects. This is a key role, ensuring that all design aspects are well-planned, technically sound, and aligned with project requirements and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Coordination: Manage and oversee all design elements, ensuring drawings and plans are delivered on time, accurate, and compliant with project specifications.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure design solutions are practical, buildable, and aligned with project objectives.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate design-related risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Technical Oversight: Apply strong technical knowledge of architecture and engineering to support decision-making and resolve challenges effectively.
  • Problem Solving: Provide practical, innovative solutions to design and construction issues as they arise.
  • Decision Making: Take responsibility for design-related decisions, ensuring they support overall project delivery and client satisfaction.

About You:

  • Proven experience in a Design Manager or similar role within construction or civil engineering.
  • Strong technical understanding of architectural and engineering principles.
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to identify risks and propose solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
