IBP are looking for a Programme Manager to be part of the Design & PMO team in the UK. The Programme Manager will report to the Design & PMO Manager. The Programme Manager’s primary responsibility is to oversee multiple programmes. Primary duties include setting programme goals, tasks, and timelines, reviewing progress and adjusting as necessary to ensure that all Project Opportunities are programmed correctly to meet the desired client outcomes and operational resource capacity. Liaising with the appropriate operational delivery teams and partners to monitor performance against programme implementing any corrective actions necessary to ensure compliance.

 

What will your key responsibilities be?

 

  • Monitoring the progress of all programmes within the portfolio and improving efficiency
  • Creating new programmes according to the strategic objectives of the organisation
  • Developing strong relationships with team members and partners
  • Managing resources and ensuring timely delivery of programmes
  • Supervising and coordinating activities of the wider team involved in the programme
  • Preparing reports and updating Directors and other stakeholders about the programmes
  • Resolving issues with management and stakeholders
  • Confirming successful delivery at the programme’ s completion
  • Assists the operational delivery teams in the delivery of the programme outputs and outcomes.
  • Monitor programmes and target Delivery Managers to deliver the programme to the required timescales maintaining compliance with all quality and safety requirements.
  • Develop, monitor, and publish internal Key Performance Metrics.
  • Proactively drive all necessary actions to ensure programme activities are actioned at the earliest opportunity.
  • 3rd Party Relationship Management; providing copy programmes to the Design Team ensuring their compliance with the key dates, outputs, and outcomes.
  • Review current processes and procedures to identify potential IT solutions to improve accuracy and efficiency.

 

What competencies are we looking for?

 

  • Degree qualified and / or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an equivalent role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Associate membership of the APM
  • In-depth understanding of performance evaluation principles
  • Advanced user in MS Excel and MS Project
  • Analytical approach to understand trends and lead/ lag indicators
  • Exceptional leadership and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage a team and stakeholders
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with client contract management representatives.
  • Ability to effectively direct and advise operational delivery representatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of programme and project management methods and principles
  • Experience of programme managing high volume short duration programmes of works
  • Attention to detail and time management skills
  • P6 programming experience
  • Permit & Noticing experience
  • Understanding of Wayleaves and processes
  • Good understanding and application of the build specifications and client guidelines and processes associated with fibre networks.
