Embedded Software Test or Firmware Test Engineer position - to £50K+ benefits - Cambridge - excellent career opportunity
An excellent opportunity for a 2+ years experienced Embedded Software Test or Firmware Test Engineer to join a high calibre multi-disciplined R & D driven technology company whose nano positioning and materials technology and IP is used in high end mobile devices, wearables and consumer electronic devices around the world., for applications such as AR / VR, Drones, Autonomous Vehicles and gesture control.
As a Software Test Engineer, you will work in a fast-paced environment and be involved in every stage of the software test cycle, concept to production, of the complex system, so you can really make an impact on the product. The firmware is cross-compatible with multiple processor architectures e.g. ARM Cortex-M, RISC-V and this forms a key part of the challenge of testing real-time embedded control solutions. Not for the faint hearted but very satisfying work.
About you
You are a capable and ambitious Embedded Software / Firmware Engineer, who is looking to join a world-class electronics, control and firmware engineering team and really make your mark on their products, IP and technology.
You are passionate about software and technology and able to play a significant role in a highly skilled team, developing test frameworks, test cases and testing software for new products and finding efficient ways to improve software testing, generally.
Your role
To work within a team of mechanical, control, electronics and firmware engineers to build on the IP and technology that ensures the companies solutions remain the most advanced in the world.
Testing of embedded firmware or software
Designing, developing and maintaining automated test cases
Defining test plans which ensure coverage
Develop and improve the methods and procedures to enhance our ability to deliver successful products.
Your skills and experience
BSc or BEng in Electronic Engineering or other relevant degree course
BSc or BEng in Electronic Engineering or other relevant degree course
2 years demonstrable industrial experience and achievements
2 years’ experience of one or more programming/scripting languages such as Ruby / Perl/ C# / Python / bash, etc.
