Sheffield Specialist SEN School – Up to £550 per week – Full-Time

The Role – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant:

As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students aged 11–16 who have a variety of learning difficulties, autism spectrum conditions, ADHD, and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. Your role will involve providing 1:1 and small-group support, adapting learning resources, and promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour.

This Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant position is particularly suited to Psychology or Education graduates, or those who have experience in care, youth work, or mentoring. The school is looking for resilient, empathetic graduates who are eager to learn and confident in supporting students with challenging behaviour.

Ideal Candidate – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • 2:1 degree or higher (Psychology or related disciplines desirable)
  • Calm, empathetic, and resilient personality
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust with pupils
  • Experience in SEN, youth mentoring, sports coaching, or care is beneficial but not essential
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK (unfortunately, no visa sponsorship available)
