Job Overview:

Reporting to the Head of Commissioning NFXP Offshore, the Commissioning Process and Piping Specialist is responsible for overseeing process and piping commissioning activities during the preparation and execution phases of the NFXP Offshore Project. This role ensures that all activities are completed safely and in accordance with quality standards, scope, and schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the execution of process and piping commissioning activities to meet schedule targets while ensuring safety, particularly during SIMOPS and co-activities.

  • Monitor contractor piping activities using OPERCOM® Methodology and ICAPS© software.

  • Oversee vendor activities during commissioning (SAT, punch list closure, OTP, etc.).

  • Maximize onshore commissioning activities before offshore execution.

  • Ensure the availability of commissioning spare parts and special tools.

  • Lead process and piping commissioning on-site (onshore/offshore) and ensure execution aligns with project targets.

  • Review and approve commissioning deliverables provided by the EPC contractor, including Operational Test Procedures.

  • Provide guidance on the contractor's commissioning plan and ensure compliance with contract requirements, codes, and standards.

  • Coordinate site activities with other disciplines, ensuring effective communication and technical support across teams.

  • Review and approve commissioning system completion and technical documents prepared by the EPC contractor.

  • Monitor commissioning document submission and ensure timely review and approval in accordance with the EPC contract.

  • Address commissioning risks and propose mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with the Risk Management Plan.

  • Review and manage commissioning changes, considering cost and schedule impacts in accordance with PMOC procedures.

  • Attend meetings, mentor trainees, and maintain a register of lessons learned.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree in process or bachelor's degree.

  • Minimum of 10 years of total experience, with at least 6 years in commissioning major capital projects.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • At least 6 years of commissioning experience in major capital projects.

  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic oil flushing, high-pressure tests, and helium leak tests.

  • Experience commissioning critical process equipment (e.g., high-pressure vessels, PSV, BDV).

  • Experience coordinating multiple contractors during the preparation and execution phases, including SIMOPS.

  • Familiarity with system completion databases like ICAPS and OPERCOM methodology.

  • Worldwide commissioning experience, particularly in offshore production facilities.

  • Ability to work flexibly across various project locations (including offshore).

  • Strong knowledge of process equipment (pumps, PSV, control valves, safety valves).

  • Experienced in hydrotesting, leak testing (gross air or helium nitrogen), and hydraulic oil flushing.

  • Knowledge of Wellhead Control Panels.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.

  • Proficient in written and spoken English, and computer literacy (Excel, PPT, Word, etc.).

  • Experience with interface coordination and support activities.

Technical Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with contractors and project teams.

  • Proficient in using commissioning software tools (OPERCOM, ICAPS).

  • Strong understanding of international standards and commissioning practices.
