MDE are recruiting for Vehicle Mechanics for our client, who is expanding their operation in the Newcastle area.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mobile Vehicle Mechanic.

As a vehicle mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of vans. This position combines with on-site repairs, and visitng commercial van sites. 

• Fault diagnosis, repair and routine maintenance of Commercial vans and Cars and other Company equipment
• Carrying out vehicle inspections and MOT checks
• Ensuring that all routine maintenance or repair work is the subject of an accurate and timely written report
• Reporting defective tools or workshop equipment
• Ensuring that safe working practices are observed at all times

Our ideal candidate will:

• Have a city & guilds or similar qualification in motor vehicle technology
• Attended a mechanical engineering course
• Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with retailer, manufacturer, and industry guidelines
• You will be expected to work independently, be up to date with health and safety practises and have good working knowledge of tyres.
• Have the ability to work alone and manage your own time
• All candidates will need to demonstrate that they have the Right to Work in the UK.
• A clean driving licence is also highly desirable.

Salary and Working Hours 

• £38,000 - £42,000 (depending on experience) 
• 42.5 Hours per week, between 7am and 6pm
• 07:00 - 16:00
• 08:00 - 17:30
• 08:30 - 18:00
